I don't know if anyone is still having problems but this was posted over on the LupusUK forum:

"Hi all, if anyone is stuggling to get a slot, phone this number...0800 0525500, they were really helpful and will get you on the vulnerable list if you're not already. You will then have access to the delivery slots but keep checking as they only release 1 or 2 days ahead."

I called the number. Very helpful. Had I registered as vulnerable with the government web page? Answer no. Had to do so, a letter would follow, at which point I could book a delivery slot, some time in the distant future. Registered and now waiting for a letter. How do they judge vulnerability? No question about illnesses. They asked my NHS number, is that the key to the door?

Tried Tesco and I now have a slot on 11th September. By then either I'll be starved or dead. Best option seems to be that as best one can, to join the supermarket queue. At least there's some convivial chat.... from a distance

Keep looking - the person from Lupus says that priority slots may only be released a couple of days ahead.

Thank you so much PMRpro, this has been so helpful. My OH has phoned the number and spoken to someone who told us what to do. Now fingers crossed we are able to start getting deliveries soon!

Re Sainsbury’s, I have used them for many years but as soon as this virus happened they stopped giving me access. Then they realised my age and reinstated my order. Then, after three weeks of deliveries they began blocking me again. I think because I wasn’t on the vulnerable list. I am now. Put myself on but whether it will work I don’t know. I enjoy food, it’s a hobby as well. Love making soup so I need lots of ingredients for three people.
