I'm sorry this is in Italian - I can't find anything in English and it is a very new report.
Dr Ranieri is a Consulting Professor and Head of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Medicine in Bologna and is very active in research. He and a colleague in Lombardy have developed a device which means a ventilator can be used for 2 patients at the same time. A company in Bologna have made it up and it has been tested successfully. If this is true, the number of ventilators in Italy - and the world - can be doubled within a very short time at a relatively moderate cost.

Great news. Clever
As they say "necessity is the mother of invention". Bravo to Dr Ranieri! I pray they now find a vaccine to deadly virus.
Great opportunity to read Italian, and not the dreary news usual today. I lived in Rome and the Ticino for many years, and then traveled to Italy for my art curator job. I have a soft spot for Italians and have been feeling devastated by accounts from friends. This wasn't meant to be flippant or boasting, just a chance to express my sympathy.
Your hubby is absolutely right as I read it in last nights paper. The patients have to have the same needs. However, the Canadian Doctor got the info from another country
