Coronavirus & prednisolone

Given that GCA & PMR are brought on by issues with our autoimmune system and that the prednisolone is acting in place of our immune system are we in a more vulnerable group to fight off coronavirus? I am currently on a 5mg tapering plan (this is my third attempt to get to zero!) I raise this question because I heard a medic state ibruprofen and steroids in the same sentence as a problem with covid 19.

Hi devonmichael, there are numerous messages discussing the potential impact on PMR GCA and pred/dmards. Because of the volume of questions we are asking that members please read the dated chat which has numerous links. If you want you can then ask a question in the Chat Covid post for today and/or read the post by pmrpro on rheumatologists advice. I will be closing rrplies here. Thank you for your understanding. 🌻
