At last Low Carbs!

Finally I have decided to add in Low/No Carbs, Keto to our Intermittent Fasting regime.

I do hope it works. We've been doing it since since Thursday and so far so good. I see 1 kilo less than a week or so ago (I don't weigh myself very often).

Despite now being at almost 7mg from 15mg I have put on some more weight in last few months.

So, looking forward to seeing some results and soon.

It's been a long time since I posted a photo of Thea, so here is today's photo.

Getting cold watching her brother playing football. She'll be 3 in April but looks like she'll be 4 :)

Is she the baby I saw photos of before.... Times does fly. Lovely.

Good luck. I only get weighed when they force me at the hospital and use the same scale in the rheumies dept. Don't try and go too low and make sure you include good fats to fill you. Sometimes when we start moving about more we build up muscles that weigh more than fat so don't get disheartened.👍

Oh Thea’s looking so cute 💕

I’m doing a mix of low carb, some recipes from the diabetic website, 11lb so far! I’m really pleased, so good luck 🍀

Hi can I ask how you manage intermittent fasting with your medication.? What time of day do you take pred and do you have any thing to eat with it ?

I use the 16 hours fasting 8 hours eating plan. It's easy for me - light breakfast at 8.30, lunch at 2 pm, one slice of toast (with cheese or smoked salmon) at 4.30 pm. It works for me.

How very German!!! But Abendbrot at 4.30pm????? I'd be starving by bedtime!

Yes but....! Don't forget D finished college at 1 pm every day so we ate at 2pm.

Never got into that - if I was lucky he came home at 8pm ...

I take my Pred when I get up with a small amount of milk. 1st meal at 13h and last food before 20h.

Any dairy however small will break the fast, I have found it very good pre pred but can’t find times to suit as I take pred between 4 and 6 a.m

If you are working in this under normal conditions,

But being on pred means there are random spikes of glucose being released by the liver - you have no control over them and so you can't be sure you are sticking religiously to the fasting period anyway because the body doesn't care where the glucose come from - it has exactly the same effect if triggers release of insulin. You can only adapt it as far as you can. And it does still help.

Bum :(

We've been IF ing for 3.5 years so I'm not planning to make changes to that.

Hope the almost carb free will cause a kick up the bum for the weight and inflammation.

Yes, she is that big. Her dad is 6'2 and she is just over the 90th centile.

She's wearing 3/4 year old clothes.

Can't wait to visit, this year in October.

My daughter is 4' 11" on a tall day. Her godson is almost as big as her - both parents at IRO 6'!!!!

I'm just over 5' with the wind behind me. I'd have like to have been 2/3 inches taller.

Me too - an extra 4in would have been nice. I'm not overweight, I'm undertall. Genuinely. I can't wear the stuff for petites, the waist is halfway to my neck on dresses, uncomfortably low with trousers. But all trousers are 4-6in too long. If my legs were longer my BMI would be acceptable.

Yes...re BMI although I need to be 7ft 10" for mine to be acceptable.

Have just been searching for a smart(ish) outfit for daughter's civil wedding here in France for end of May.

Found a lovely tunic which on me is a dress. Looks good with 3/4 length colour coordinated leggings. Quite pleased really as it's nigh on impossible to find clothes for my size that aren't made with Amazons in mind!

I have a lovely orange tunic - same problem, one size and I'd need to be at least 5 sizes bigger for the sleeves to be anything like!!!

I remember that beauty when she was a little baby. How time flies! Good luck with your eating plan. I feel good when I fast.

I don't notice that I am fasting now, it's been so long. I do remember having energy to do stuff at first and then along came PMR!

Me neither - just a pattern of eating that suits me far better than 3 meals a day. OH likes meals as a specific time whereas I only really want to eat when I'm hungry. If I'm not hungry, I can't be bothered. Not that that cuts any ice with him!
