Diagnosed GCA 01/04/19.
Had an awful year, bad reaction to pred. Started planning this trip to South Africa last Feb. Given clearance to travel only 10 days before we left on the 11th. Have spent 3 night s in a safari lodge doing two drives each day. Tiring but so restorative. I cannot describe how well it is making me feel.Don't be afraid to make travel plans, go for it!!!

It really is a holiday of a life time
Had 7 day Safari followed by two weeks on the beach at Mombasa felt as if I was in a dream the whole holiday .

I have PMR & GCA & we went on a 6 week trip to South Africa in Dec/Jan. Medical services there are excellent if you need them (as I did on one occasion) appointment with a GP within the hour & on Christmas Eve! But generally I felt much better being in a warm climate. I couldn’t do long walks but we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday so I too say to everyone, go ahead with your holiday plans.
