Any idea if this is a symptom of PMR or CGA. I am on 9 1/2 prednisone right now. My blood tests were fine a week ago at drs. appt. on 71 msg of methotrexate right now

Please call the emergency services immediately. That is NOT typical of PMR or GCA and COULD be the symptoms of a stroke or mini-stroke. You need a medical assessment and opinion as soon as possible. I'm sorry to sound so dramatic but it really is the case.

re: "I am in the hospital and did have a stroke in my arm!"

Do you have a weak pulse in the affected wrist? or/and lower blood pressure in the affected arm than the other one? If so, it might be stenosis in an arm artery caused by large vessel GCA [LV-GCA], an unusual condition best treated at a university clinic with good rheumatology dept. see my previous reply to your post of 5 mo ago.

I have an impaired hand from a brain stroke caused by GCA. [left brain ischemic stroke affecting right arm and hand; arm recovered but hand only partially]
