I am male, 68, generally fit and healthy living in mid-Michigan, US. PMR diagnosed mid October of 2019. BIOPSY non-conclusive for GCA but my Rheumatologist put me on 60 mg Prednisone at our first visit based on symptoms and history. Totally lost for the first weeks of the journey but getting more rational now that the pain and panic are much less! Prednisone, my best friend and foe!

Hi, and welcome!

You are right : best friend (most definitely if you have GCA - been there) - and foe (sometimes, but can be tamed!)

Bit more info, if you’re not already saturated with it -

Hello. Welcome to the merry go round. It does become less weird as you reduce dose and you become more accustomed to it all.
