Thank you for all your very positive and supportive comments. I'm still in remission with PMR and due to attempt to climb Annapurna IV (7525m) between 5th October and 8th November 2019. This is the 47th highest mountain in the world and one of the most remote, coldest and deadliest summits. Last year this peak claimed four lives ... so this is no ordinary challenge; it is the ultimate challenge. My physical training is going very well and for the first time in six years I'm managing to push heavy weight to build-up my upper body strength as we'll be climbing hard ice, setting our own ropes and ladders over the crevasses and seracs. I'm also carrying 20kg heavy rucksacks in the Lake District and beyond. I'm mentally prepared and have programmed the route in my mind. Local media have taken an interest and ITV Tyne Tees has been in touch. I'm hoping to raise awareness and support for PMRGCAuk pmrgca.co.uk/ Donations can be made at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fu...

Hi John, I've tried to send a donation via your link to Virgin. Unfortunately, I've found that I have to register and I've got confused over it. So instead, I'm sending £30.00 directly to PMRGCAuk. Here's hoping all goes well with you on your journey.
I was diagnosed in 2013 when I was only 51yr old running 60 miles per week and climbing big mountains. I was on steroid reduction programme for 21 months and am in remission with PMR. Please go to my page for the full story, Slosh. All the best x
That is a recent photograph prior to getting a haircut to "look sharp" for my son's wedding last month. It was taken at the Durham Adventure Festival in May 2019.
Wow! Impressed on all counts, including photo! 🤣All the best John with your challenge. Let us know how you get on. Your story gives me hope that we can carry on as before after PMR.
Thank you for the donation and information regarding the two fundraising pages. Very interesting. Both pages ensure donations go to PMRGCAuk but I will close down a page to alleviate any confusion. Take care x
