Does anybody know if we get any financial support from NHS for eye tests or glasses because of PMR? Thank you.

High unlikely……you might get tests free depending on age, or assistance on certain financial circumstances .

I lost one eye through through GCA over 10 years ago and have to pay for my glasses…annual tests are free (age related)

When I developed GCA - at that time you could have free eye test every 6 months instead of every two years. I cannot remember the exact date this was stopped but it was over 10 years ago. . I do know it was not available for PMR .

I wish! This is a very expensive disease. My optical prescription has changed 3 x recently.

You can get free eye tests for several reasons also optical vouchers. You can see the list at nhs.uk/nhs-services/opticia...

There used to be free tests semi-annually for patients on pred - but that was withdrawn some years ago. Here I can't even go to an optician for my tests - they don't do the pressure test. It has to be a hospital appointment in the eye department. And llike many I don't qualify for free appointments - PMR doesn't get an exemption. RA does.
