2nd day events

Well yesterday I felt so good into my second day of taking 15mg Pred. Did son sorting at home of clothes and baking in afternoon with rests. Grandson over for tea. Late going to bed, but had rough night with pains in shoulders and arms! Finally at 4 am I had a banana and too my tablets. All seems ok now. Maybe I did too much too soon? Need to give this medication more time. Difficult because you feel on a high! Still, I am learning.

Morning Libs

A great feeling, almost like a miracle after feeling so awful. But do take it easy? Some of this feeling is euphoria from the pref, l remember kicking up a fuss in the office because things had been let slide while l was unwell

Wising you well but take it steady .

“Maybe I did too much too soon?” - in a word, yes, from the sounds of it. However, it is a common natural reaction and who could resist eh? Especially after feeling bad beforehand and then getting wings from Pred.

“Need to give this medication more time “ - yes and no. Yes the inflammation needs to be got under control fully, but no it generally doesn’t mean you can go back to normal plus the artificial boost from the Pred. It is just a safety blanket to stop the inflammation from causing problems, while your body decides when it is going to stop attacking itself which can be a long time. The challenge is pacing yourself and using trial and error by listening to what your body has to say about what you just did, then adjusting your activity accordingly. It sent you your first memo last night. Good news though.

Well done on answering your own question!!! We have all been there. And to be honest it's a valuable lesson. The pred makes you feel as if you are a super hero...but try to use some of that strength to lay down and focus on how good you feel. Try not to spend all the energy on playing catch up!

We could all do with a reminder every now and then to pace ourselves to allow our bodies to heal!

Yeah, we've all been there, done that.

The good new is you feel better. The bad news is that you have a chronic condition that requires both medication and LOTS of rest. Check out the Spoon Theory at healthunlocked.com/pbc-foun...

Pred is going to make you feel like superwoman, but that's temporary. It is only treating the symptoms, not the cause. The more you do, the more inflammation builds up, and the worse you'll feel. Keep it up and in the long run you'll need to take higher does of pred for longer.

Choose how you'll spend your "energy" wisely on a daily basis. Ask that grandson of yours for some help to lighten your load so you have something left other for enjoyable activities. Yes, you need gentle exercise and a good diet, and plenty of rest.

Good luck to you on your journey.
