In the process of reducing Prednisone from 13.5 to 13 using the DSNS method. Have been experiencing significant bouts of vertigo and dizziness the last few weeks. Anyone else experience this during their taper?

Vertigo
Hi Rocketman
The problem when we have an issue at the same time as we are reducing can mean we blame the Pred but it may be totally unconnected & really needs checking out by your GP
However, as detailed below reducing Pred can cause dizziness & vertigo

This may help. Many ent doctors try this procedure on their patients.
It's very simple to do. You will need help of either your spouse, partner or friend.
Good luck
YuliK.
Yep, that Epley's manuver has worked on my BPPV. My instructions from my ENT also recommended for the next 24 hrs to keep head raised and sleeping that night on an incline.
Woke up today and thankfully much better. Slept on 2 pillows last night and not bending at all today.
Will keep my fingers crossed. 🤞
I went from 60 mg. down to 2-1/2 mg. in 8 months. I tapered down 60 to 0 mg. three times before realizing that I needed to stay on it full time. I had to start over and finally stabilized at 2-1/2 mg. and have been on that for almost 2 years. I did not have any major side effects while tapering but did it slowly reducing the dose by 10 mg. for a few weeks and then 5 mg. a few weeks before finally being able to cut that dose in half. It was a slow process but it's working for me. My doctor wants me to cut the 2-1/2 dose in half or just take it every other day but I haven't tried that yet. I have a progressive lung disease and there is no fix. The prednisone is the only med that has helped me. I am on oxygen 24/7 where I live but am able to take a break from it when I travel to a place that has a lower elevation. Where I live it is 7000 ft.
