Does anyone else have trouble sitting for any length of time? I can manage an hour or so at work or in front of the tv then I have to get up and move. Long car journeys are out. I wake up with aching legs and this morning my fingers were numb but that stopped after I got up and started moving. Would appreciate any advice.

Sitting for a while
I did with untreated PMR. On ENOUGH pred it isn't a problem. I do struggle with sitting when the trochanteric bursitis is bad - but that is discomfort over the bursa.
I sit with my feet up. I suspect I wouldn’t last long upright.
Yes, I can’t sit for long as my legs seize up a bit and I am wobbly so I fidget a fair bit. We do long journeys but stop quite often.
I had trouble before prednisone I could only sit for one hour then had to walk around. On prednisone I can last two Hours.
I have trouble sitting for a long time; better with legs up. Very difficult when I need to do computer work; some of it is less patience and edginess which could be the prednisone. Even when I am enjoying a movie, I have to get up and move. You're not alone.
An hour is a long time for anyone to sit. I change position all the time watching TV. Get up to stretch about very 15 mins at my computer where I am about 6 hours a day . OK travelling if I am driving as my attention is taken up but stretch in my seat if I am a passenger. I am always stiff after sitting since being on pred currently 2.5 mg GCA.
One of the symptoms which show I have tapered too far is pain in the backside when sitting on a too hard chair for too long. I now have a deep cushion while using the computer. At long meetings I have to get up and stand behind my chair for a bit. After one hour it becomes intolerable. On higher doses I don't have a problem.
Hi teesher
Yes l have similar issues, car journeys are a problem for me as my knees get very stiff & of course that means getting out of the car is also difficult!
We know all the Service Stations to Heathrow & Southampton as we always stop for me to stretch out!
When l’m at home, if l want to relax l always rest on my bed as l can stretch out & change my leg positions so my knees don’t get so stiff!
Kind Regards

hi teesher
yes I have same problem, made worse now as in the last few weeks I have developed Plantar Fasciutis, which is really bad on getting up 1st thing and after sitting. Apart from my legs, thighs, shins, knees hurting I can't now put weight on my feet. Doing exercises so hopefully it will improve and wearing special inserts in shoes. I do not go on holiday anymore as I can't bear sitting for long. I,m sure with time we will both get better.
I get very stiff after sitting for an hour. Try to move around every half hour. I can do a car for about two hours but it starts to get uncomfortable.
For me it is not so much he sitting (so long as the chair is comfortable) but the getting up again!!!
Same here! I seem to spend my life "reclining" these days. I do drag myself up every hour or so though - that's the first excercise, then I waddle around a bit. When I feel really fit I do the "Oakley Kokey" (Sp)? (silently)!😂😂😂 Lot of excercise there.💃💃
I hope that is said tongue in cheek? Even on pred, many patients can't get out of bed never mind go running in the morning.
