Hi everyone,

I have had pmr for about three years and I’m now down to 1mg of Pred.

Is anyone else doing Ying Yoga.?

Sometimes I feel really good, other times my aches and pains increase.

I don’t want to make things worse, but would like to strengthen my muscles.

This sounds sensible to me. I have done gentle yoga and even yoga where the yoga instructor positions my limbs for me. I wouldn’t do a too strenuous exercise regime, your muscles are vulnerable. Inform your teacher about PMR. I am at your stage but on 5 and 4.mgs alternating.

Hi Jane,

Yes I find it fine while I’m there, although getting up and down on the mat must be a sight for sore eyes from the back 😂 but later when my muscles hurt I wonder if I should wait until I’m clear of PMR.

I did Iyengha yoga for a couple of years, as well as Pilates, and I found it helpful - although it had to be heavily adapted for me. It was also positions but not held for as long as in Yin yoga.

Yes I’m going to keep going, but think I need to take it more slowly 😀

My instructor was brilliant - no pushing and made adaptations that made it less likely that muscles would hurt.
