For some reason I got an e-mail inviting me to a webinar hosted at the University of Calgary. It involves one of the key researchers of this new type of treatment for Type 1 diabetes and claims it could likely eventually be used to treat any number of auto-immune diseases So I looked it up.

Auto-immune research
Worth finding out!
It sounds like an interesting time to get a foot in the door to network info about progression. Obviously we could be talking years and years but always worthwhile knowing what's going on. It depends if you want to do it?
It might take years but a start's a start. We might not see the benefits but hopefully generations to come will.
Thanks Heron.
~Thanks very much Heron - excellent to read despite some being over my head within the medical speak~
That’s exciting!
There's no point my signing up as I wouldn't understand it. It does sound interesting. Of course these things always are until the bugs crawl out of the woodwork. This seems to be a way of targeting the specific problem, which is a whole lot better than the scattershot method we use today.
Interesting - and T cells have been implicated in some GCA I think.
Excellent , I will be really interested to hear about what you learn not just in terms of AI but to see if my OH can get improvements in his Type 1 Diabetic Care .
Thanks for letting us know x
You could have signed up. I didn't. I'm waiting for the research to be extended to the other auto immune conditions which affect some of us. I think the webinar must be (or have been, was it today?) open to anyone, I must be on some sort of mailing list because I haven't any connection to the University of Calgary. I posted because others might be interested in following up.
