New test new rummy.

Hi due to some new back pain up and down my spine (only sleeping ) I went to a new rummy. I went in with no records. I was sent for all new blood test. He told me to stay on the predsone. I am at 3 mil. But put on meloxican after one night no more pain Can’t wait for test to come back. What’s else could I have ???i have had Pmr for 2 years and only the last 2 months with my spine issues.. keep you posted Also did my first treatment of acupuncture and cupping Felt great after but really don’t know it help Not cheap but will try it again anything that might help is worth it

Hi. Meloxican is a nsaid that seems primarily to be used for OA or rheumatoid arthritis. The Rheumy i see tested for RA, Lupus etc etc at first visit (i presumed all do it). Its not unusual to have some OA in the spine, i have had it for a few years so try not to be concerned too much.

Even though you are on a low dose of pred, you should beware gastric issues. I hope they can confirm what you are dealing with.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a possibility - it is similar to PMR in early stages but particularly causes night time pain and also responds well to meloxicam-type medications
