Wisdom Tooth out! 😱😁

Hello all you wonderful people who sent words of encouragement before my tooth extraction.

The oral surgeon only removed one wise tooth, said its odd placement and small cavity was sufficient reason to pull it! And pull he did! And twist, and tug, and wiggle, and so on.

The second wisdom tooth is healthy and no reason to extract.πŸ‘πŸ½

I must say my jaw bones are solid and none the worse for 5+ years of prednisone. That tooth was really well anchored, but came out cleanly, non-complicated.

All my anxiety was eased with laughing gas, and I was momentarily a happy little camper. Once the anesthetics wore off, not so much...πŸ₯Ί

Today, morning after, salt water rinses and tapioca pudding have me feeling the worst is past.

Thank you for the encouragements, ordinarily I am tough as an old boot, but when it comes to my teeth...again...not so much!

Love to you all, happy spring, Jerri

Pleased to hear it was successful- and not as painful or stressful as you anticipated.

My dentist experience today: another few hours in the chair - OH rang to ask where I was! But I am pain-free and have a new ceramic tooth I can't feel at all, perfect fit and feels like it's been there for yonks! The bill is to come - that will be the most painful bit! The technician suggested I might want the gold filling swapped for a ceramic - at that price, she HAS to be joking!!!!!!

And I had to shell out for a new basic phone as the old battery was gone. Not impressed after about 12 years ...

Same here with the phone...lasted many years and basic....but I`m moaning again...nothing new is as good as the old!....even though it`s the same but newer model.....

Hi Jerri, glad your extraction went well. I'm due to have a molar out a week today. A root canal tooth. Hope mine goes as well as yours. All the best.

Hi

So glad it all went well. Please keep on with the rinses until it's healed completely.

Best wishes.

Wondering if getting an abcessed tooth out can HELP with overall level of inflammation, and therefor PMR?

My molar had an encysted abcess and a cracked root, so no option for root canal.

Once it was out, my (post-prednisone) symptoms subsided rather promptly. Except when I overdo the garden cleanup work!

If your immune system is working overtime on PMR and not able to concentrate on an infection - or vice versa - you would imagine there could well be some connection.

β€œImagine”?

So no real link, then?

I wondered if the abcess, possibly of serveral years duration, could have TRIGGERED my PMR...?

Obviously you don't speak the same English as I do ;) - to me "you would imagine" means that it is not unreasonable to envisage that this is a possibility but you aren't sure. Just takes far fewer words...

macmillandictionary.com/dic...

If it has been around a long time then I'd be surprised if it was the only thing involved - otherwise it would have happened sooner.

Trump was the coup de grace!

And I do acknowledge the other acceptable use of β€œimagine”. Just wanted to clarify, since the two meanings added ambiguity.
