Since starting pred 2 years ago, 60 mg for GCA I haven’t had any colds in this time, however now I’m down to 2 mg and have had a colds for 6 weeks and now a horrendous cough, could it be that my Adrenal glands have not kicked in???
I was wondering whether to increase pred for a while? Really do not want to do this, opinion would be welcome.

I have to say I’ve had a few more colds than usual, and they do seem to hang about longer. If other family members get them they seem to be acute, whereas I wallow in them far too long and can’t shake them off. The last one has left me with a productive cough, I’m a smoker, only got myself to blame!
Is the cough you have productive? Yellow or green sputum may need antibiotics.
Dry cough? Can be a sign of GCA or LVV affecting the lungs. Probably best to run it past your GP.
Thank you for your reply, I have seen the gp who done some test and felt all was ok, she gave me antibiotics but did not want me to take them unless I got worse, because of other medication I was on.
It is a dry cough but there has been a little green sputum.
When you 'run it past your GP' as Soraya has advised. Insist he refers you to an Endocrinologist for a Synacthen Test to see if those adrenals of yours have woken up and started working.
