Hi there all of you. such a good site and helps when I realise I am not being dramatic or fussing when I feel so bad, sore and stiff, depressed and tearful, not to mention exhausted all the time. However, I am really posting to say that if you are suffering from hair loss and thinning, I was as well 4 months ago, until I discovered, online, a fabulous shampoo and condtioner recommended by a trychologist. Viviscal Densifying shampoo and condtioner. It's magic!....I bought it from Amazon...not cheap, but so worth it. Even my hairdresser has commented on how quickly my hair has grown. the other little secret and an very expensive one, from the same trychologist...silk pillow cases. Oh wow! wonderful to sleep on and great for both hair and skin.

That's interesting, I have found that since I have been on steroids, I am growing hair in more places than before. No additional hair products at all.

Only saying ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes it would seem that some of us gain it it places we don't want it and others lose it. Can't win some times, that's why I'm called Pastit Maybe I should be called Lostit instead ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you for that AmberAliona. My daughter has developed Alopacia and I wonder if it would help her? My own thinning hair is being dealt with by my clever, kind hairdresser. She uses Kevin Murphy products and has done me a clever cut. I have the Pred Perm.

I really don't know if it would help your daughter, but it might be worth trying. It's a fabulous product. Good luck, let me know please.

I lost a good bit of hair when I first went on Methotrexate, just for the first few weeks. I tried a few products designed specifically for thinning hair but one of the best was good old Elvive Fibrology straight from the supermarket. I use the matching conditioner too and itโ€™s really good.

Another thing that happened was that my hair colourant stopped taking. My hair just resisted it. My hairdresser said that this often happens with people on steroids. So I just let it go grey. Itโ€™s actually almost white and Iโ€™m delighted with it! Should have let it go years ago.

I tried letting my hair grow out and remain naturally grey by not colouring it for months. As the blonde grew out the roots looked ok in the front and sides (white/silver), but the back was an awful blend of dark mouse brown and grey (yuck). So this past weekend I got my daughter to help me colour it (I get professional colour products), and I chose a more ash/platinum blonde and it took well and looks great. Iโ€™m afraid Iโ€™m a slave to the (colour) bottle.

I did!! I ignored the dark bit at the back when I first let it grow out and it wasn't long until it evened out! Good cut makes a difference too.

Hi Amber Aliona

Thanks for this, lโ€™ll give it a try as Iโ€™m still wearing a wig after Chemo; the Steroids & Methotrexate have prevented my hair thickening up, itโ€™s quite sparse in the top but ok at the sides & nape of my neck.

Will order some tomorrow, did you try the Serum as well?

No, I didn't try the serum, but use the conditioner each time I shampoo, and comb it through very carefully before finding it out xx

Thanks for the tips. I have ordered the shampoo and conditioner from Target for about $15USD for the pair. Not available in store, but free shipping TO store. Can pick it up in a week.

Will look for silk pillow cases when I am there.

I really hope it works for you. My hairdresserโ€™s comment last week was โ€œOh wow. Where has all this hair come from?โ€ She hadnโ€™t seen me for 8 weeks. Made my day. Good luck.

No I havenโ€™t. But I am so pleased with the way my hair is growing Iโ€™m not sure I need to. Will have a think. Anyone else used it?

It was close to 40USD, so I passed. Will give the shampoo and conditioner a try first.

I started using shampoo with no sulfites and no parabens, it worked unbelievable the first few times...also an Apple cider vinegar rinse..organic..My doctor had stopped my vitamin d at 50,000iu's so got my own and that make a huge different. Recently bought all hair productswith no sulphates and parabens..no linger dry, frizzy and old looking. I love my hair now
