Many thanks everyone for the advice. I am on 15mg of pred at the moment but need to chat with my lovely doc to put a plan together with regards to reducing dose. Once again many thanks.

Try and persuade him to agree to 1mg per month - provided all okay. Plus also ask him what you can do in terms of increasing should you get a problem. Hopefully you won’t, but at least if you’ve cleared it with him beforehand you’ll be able to adjust your dose should it be necessary without having the hassle of trying to get an appointment.
