Personal decision on this! Read earlier posts, references & the devil is in the detail! Who knows? What I can say is that my GCA followed straight after Shingles!! (Plus a lot of other stuff!)

Had The Flu Jab Today! Declined The Shingles One!
Can understand why, lets hope it's it's the right decision! How are the shins? Bright purple?
It's just the right one scats. Missing skin wound drying up ok in the fresh air. Good excuse to keep wearing shorts! Bit nippy feeding the birds in the park this morning though! How's yourself?
Not bad thanks. Last week could walk a mile and back, today only made the garden before muscles complained. Still I am now below 10mg for the first time.....9.5, but it still counts!
My turn to get flu jab now.
Our postie is still in shorts so you're not the only mad one.
Well done with the 2 miles & you're hitting the tricky bit! 12.5 myself & holding better than expected after previous flares!
Male & female posties seem to be competitive here who can wear them through the Winter! I ain't that mad or brave!! It's central heating time!
Can't sleep tonight, not unusual.
Been lying there thinking 2 miles and feeling proud of myself.
The nearest town is 2 miles away, there's no way I was walking that far! Reassessed... probably nearer one mile in total and then only once. Not the greatest achievement, but I did do it that one time.
Now I must work up to that distance at the new pred level.
As for shorts I'm still in summer dresses with bare legs so probably the female equvilant, if not better.
There are miles & country miles & how the crow fly's!
Mind that Winter wind! You could take off on your walk!
Our posties wear them all year round here in 'southern softie' land.. Coldest night last night for us, chuck another coat on mam!..... do you recall those days or were you posh?
Cor blimey! Posh!!! Outside lav. at the end of the yard! Pitch black & froze up in the Winter! Knees knocking! Newspaper for the T roll! Spyhole in the door! A voice shouting "Ow long yow gunna be out there!" Ahh! the memories come flooding back!!! God knows how many horse blankets on the bed (weighed a ton). Frozen sash windows with a gale blowing through the gap! Potty under the bed! Lino on the floor! Never thought life was different anywhere else at the time. The innocence of it!
I can relate to all of that , it’s what is known as the good old days,or maybe because we were young and carefree!! x
Very true Jeannie. A view of life never recaptured I think! ATB
You certainly tell it as was for some Pep - we did have an inside lavvy but grandparents hadn't - neither hot water only through a geyser! - boiled kettles for the tin bath - it was grandad's job to cut the newspaper to size and hang it on a string in their toilet....he felt very important.... As you say it was the way of life then, we just got on with it. Years on I've seen friends' (and my kids) faces if the subject of coats on the bed ever came up, they thought I was joking. Can recall dad's army coat - really warm! He eventually agreed to get rid of his army uniform and we were allowed to dress our guy in it one bommie night - then someone stole it.....it was real competition for the biggest bonfire in those days, we couldn't see for days because of the smog they caused.....memories eh! The nearest I get to memories is to buy a toffee apple!
This is getting competitive T. Outside wash house with boiler for hot water, tin bath, shared water! Some up the road had shared toilets & wash houses! You wouldn't believe how this part of Brum has changed! (The new Chelsea!)
Bonfire night! One of the highlights of the year! The" guys" made more complex every year & the fight for best begging position outside Midland Bank!
Couldn't tackle a toffee apple or a stick of candy floss now & some of those hot dogs were a bit dodgy! Hey ho suns out here, I'll have a pither! ATB
Sure is, the washing machine was the water boiler - no posh boiler - and definitely shared water - dirtiest last. The New Chelsea eh.... Some of the run down areas I knew back home you wouldn't recognise now. It had to happen, some tenants were so disrepectful of the council houses - was told some used to rip the kitchens out and burn for firewood then the council replaced them!! Makes me shudder to think, I'm no snob but keep me away from that kind of living - I'd live in a tent in a field first.
Never liked hot dogs, tried to but yuk.. I've been having the odd toffee apple though - my fav. My grandmother used to make them - she did a roaring trade with the school kids as they lived at the end of the school road where they all had to pass. When the little swing board went up outside saying 'Toffee Apples', they queued for ever down the road....memories again!
Having a pither eh! - can't say I've heard it said that much but you enjoy your pithering!
Pithering ! Very much underrated
Follow that instinct! 🦉
Best way Jane. It's my body & my risk! Hope your infection is improving.
Thank you! I feel lighter today and it was all courtesy of my own immune system.
Good to have it onside for a change eh!
