Pred and CBD oil

Is anyone trying canbabis oil and is it dangerous to take with prednisolone? I have bought some capsules from Holland and Barrett but am a bit nervous about actually taking them.

I don’t think it is Sue and a number of posters have tried it. Wouldn’t it be great if it just did the trick. Only prejudice and ignorance have prevented the full exploration of it’s medicinal potential. Let us know if you try it?

I bet the H&B stuff is quite weak though.

Morning Jane, Yes it I would imagine that it would be a weak dosage. Can’t imagine H & B selling the hard stuff!

I was talking to a friend whose ex wife has been suffering with arthritis for years and anxiety as well. She ordered some off the internet and says it’s changed her life. Off all meds. Sound too good to be true doesn’t it?

If only it was so!

Have a lovely Christmas Jane and enjoy your family. 🌸

The reality is that research is very limited because of prejudice and ignorance. I do believe the US is preparing to remove it from the banned substance list which will allow funding to be allocated for more research; let's hope. It has been approved by the FDA to treat seizure disorders in a drug called Epidolex and is apparently very effective in calming the nervous system; it is also anti-inflammatory.

I got mine from Zipvit, it came in a bottle with a dropper. It makes me very sleepy so I only use it at night. Not sure if it does anything for pain though!

Dear Suet3942,

Yes, I use cannibus oil topically as well as medical marijuana by lozenge or occasional smoking. And yes, I am still on 4 mg. of Prednisone. (down from 16mg.)

Medical marijuana is legal where I live in US and I was accepted into the program based on my scans and other objective causes of pain. My diagnosis has never been clear; I was positive for C-ANCA at low titre; I changed to a new rheumatologist who thought that my symptoms were more in line with PMR/GCA even though my sed rate and CPR were within in normal range .

My husband massages my back and shoulders with the oil and it does relax the muscles very well. As for the marijuana itself with 18 to 22%THC depending on the strain, I find they are too strong for me. So I only use that when pain is severe.

At the dispensary, you must list all your drugs and they will tell you if anything you are taking is contraindicated with marijuana; the only drug that is highly contraindicated is Warfarin , a blood thinner as far as I know.

I don't like the smoke; makes my throat and nose sore. But it is relaxing, good for sleep and for a day you can stay at home and have no pressing matters. I like the THC lozenge better, but again two strong sometimes; I can sleep very well with it. The effect lasts 6-8 hours; I personally can't function in that state; but sometimes we do need an escape.

I am very ambivalent about THC products, but the CBD oil is pleasant in my experience. I wouldn't hesitate; but they are not all the same. Leafly.com is a good website which explains a lot. I don't believe it would hurt you in any way and you may get relief from your symptoms.

CBD also comes in patches similar to lidocaine patches and gummies. Let us know how you feel about it. All the best.., Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...

I’ve bought a similar product from H and B. It did sort of relax me for going to sleep . I probably wouldn’t spend that money again .

Think u will find the H&B ones to be extremely weak ? , however I take a much higher concentrated oil , and it is not harmful. Can’t say it actually helps though??. I have procured for freinds with Athritis who all swear by it.

Yes, I’ve been using CBD oil for a while now. It’s most useful when I have trouble getting to sleep because my body won’t relax. Also, sometimes there is a residue pain or ache in the back or arm muscles and CBD just helps with that. It’s a means of keeping life going on when otherwise I would be chairbound!! Sometimes when life has been very busy and my body is saying, ‘for goodness sake stop!’ CBD is a life saver!!

I have had CBD oil off the internet and it does help. I personally don't have an over reaction to it at a strength of 15%, but I am a "big girl" so can probably tolerate more. I do not drive when I have had it though, just in case. It isn't worth the risk.

You are right; You can't drive ; here it is like alcohol; cannot drive under influence. I don't think CBD oil is anything to be afraid of especially topical use. ; but everyone's reaction to THC is different; It's also very expensive; 2 ounces is the monthly allotment; in New Jersey, if you bought that much in one monthly trip to the dispensary, it would cost close to $800. Sometimes they have sales.?!

I use the CBD oil drops under the tongue and a cream to apply wherever I’m hurting. The cream works fast. I read that it doesn’t effects the Prednisone.
