Happy holidays...looks like winter now
Where are you again daworm? Did you post a lovely snow scene last year? How are you?
I probably did! Starts in Nov and melts late March...and lots of it in Between!! This was our first big dump..I’m doing well, going slow with the pred taper..I don’t really get sore like at first, just feel worn down and lethargic on bad days...like I’m coming down with something only I never do and bad days are usually singular...I can feel them coming on usually...when I feel like that I often think of the piece I read on here about a Dr who keeps his patients on 10mg for year then tapering down slow after that..but I would rather try to get off if possible and if I feel good..
Michigan State somewhere if I remember rightly ... Typical bloke - didn't answer the question
haha...Upper Peninsula of Michigan...check it out on Google maps..Gwinn Mich and about 20 miles south of Marquette.."the big city".surrounded by the Great Lakes which causes a lot of the winter storms...cold air over warmer (slightly warmer) water...lake effect snow...actually big business with people coming up to snowmobile and other winter sports....if only winter didn't last 5/6 months...we are much like Finland in climate and people...alot of Finns settled here as immigrants to work in the mines, I'm mostly Finn heritage and I worked 36 years in the mines...hard going!! I've swung a 16lb sledgehammer more times than I want to remember...and I wonder why I'm worn out!!
Good heavens you aren't out shoveling are you? Makes me ache just to think of it. Lovely scene tho. Christmas for sure. We've had a few pretty flurries. Nothing sticking. ❄️
WOW! Yup, that sure looks like the winters I remember in New England! Noting like a good ol "Nor'easter," to get your attention. Be safe and stay healthy!!!!
'WOW' !! - especially from an Australian - it looks kind of 'magical' but also a bit challenging - even 'scary' !! - I think I'd climb back into a warm bed with a good book ...
That's what most people do here until it stops actively snowing and then wait a bit until the farmers have been out and cleared the roads around the village. No sliding about and causing mayhem like they do in the UK
Love to see it but that's as far as it goes for me - in a picture only - grew up with this and hate it now, how do you get on with it?
Wear lots of clothes.
I'm a 'layers' person too...
