i am coming off steroids 10mg daily for over a decade. I have osteopenia but at mid 60s average for my age so I am told. The question is does bone density improve once off all steroid medication? After all all tissue renews.

Peak bone density is at about age 30 and the normal assumption is that bone density falls from then on unless you take action. It isn't entirely true and a lot of assumptions are made about the state of our bones both at our age and if we have been on pred. My bone density had barely changed in over 7 years on pred - without having been on bisphosphonates.

HeronNS on this forum improved her bone density from -2.1 to -1.6 just by diet, supplements and exercise using a weighted vest despite being on pred. So with application, you should be able to improve the figures once you are off pred. Or, come to that, while still on it.
