'INAPPROPRIATE HAPPINESS' - HOW DARE WE !!!??

Hello Everyone

Well we all know about the ZILLIONS of 'side effects' we might expect from taking Prednisone - the list seems 'endless' and I am almost positive there are others as yet to be discovered.

BUT do not despair - looking at a medically endorsed list - I found another one today which who knows might 'beset' any of us at any time - and then what would the world come to !!! ??

Well in case you suspect it from my title YES - you are right !!! it is - wait for it -

'INAPPROPRIATE HAPPINESS' !!!!!

Well how dare we !!?? - some of us might even get ONLY this extraordinarily (nasty ?) one - but I wouldn't mind - I'll have a gigantic dose of 'happy inappropriateness' at any time ... or was that 'inappropriate happiness' - well who cares ?

I am VERY 'happy' at present to see my foxgloves sprouting and hoping they will soar high enough to cover the less attractive rainwater tank behind them. We are fortunate in the lower south-west of Western Australia NOT to have been affected by the drought conditions experienced in many parts of mainly Eastern Australia recently.

Best wishes to you all - and wishing you THIS 'side effect' soon !!!

Kindest wishes

Rimmy

Dear Rimmy

I’ll happily take some of that, inappropriate or not.

I thought remaining serene and content in the face of everything going wrong would be a good thing to cultivate.

Best wishes to you x

I’m in 😘

🤣🤣🤣 I totally LOVE it! GP: I'm sorry Rimmy, you seem to be experiencing one of the more devastating side effects of Prednisone, 'inappropriate happiness!' We'll have to give you something to counter the effects right away, before it gets out of control."

As luck would have it, it's the ONE freakin side effect I DID NOT GET! 🤨

Don't worry Melissa - if we wait long enough they'll probably ALL come - so let's assume this 'indecent' side effect will be TOP OF THE LIST !!!!! - if not I'll just settle for 'inappropriateness' generally ...😄😄😄

Oh YES! I experience that one {inappropriateness} all the time!!!!!

Thank God!

Thanks Linda - they are one of my favourite flowers despite having a rather 'gothic' reputation (digitalis and all that) - I find them elegant and charming,

One of my faves too so thanks for the reminder of what mine looked like a few months back.

Happiness is never inappropriate, whatever turns you on!

I was ecstatic that Foxgloves were on this lovely planet of ours five weeks ago when I was rushed into hospital with a 'ticker' problem. Yes you guessed that that 'gothic' flower = Digoxin. Problem solved and out in 24 hours.

Just like Feverfew for migraine, but only the leaves before they flower.

We owe a lot to flowers, trees etc.

Ups and Downs, tell me about them when first on 60mg, cry me a river and bring the desert back to life - then extreme happiness - was I glad when those highs and lows disappeared. I was full of appropriate happiness and still am.

I had some of that when they gave me Dexamethasone (on top of my Pred) during Chemo for those 5days l was more than happy until the side effects of the Chemo kicked in, but it’s good stuff! 😂

Yes - you have to take SOME of the 'good' with the other stuff - or what's the point !!?? (LOL)

Where do I go to sign up for that side effect? I work on being appropriately happy haha! I LOVE foxgloves but they are a bit fussy to grow here in Illinois.

I adore Foxgloves. When I was a child I would imagine foxes putting them on and going to a party, with colourful paws.

I have had the same thought about “inappropriate happiness”, I’ll take whatever I can get. As long as I am not singing “ The Witch is Dead” at someone’s funeral that is.

Beautiful picture Rimmy,Flowers always make me feel Happy ,l am not looking forward to winter weather here as it will spoil the roses that are still blooming in my garden . I am so looking forward to Spring but the winter has only just begun .

Lovely colour Rimmy. How tall do your foxgloves grow and are the yellow daises Osteospermum.

Sorry for slow reply - offline for a few days Pepperdoggie - My foxgloves usually grow to about a metre - full grown in flower - some bigger than others. The daisy is not an Osteospermum - not sure excatly WHAT it is as I took a 'cutting' from a garden while walking by (yes I 'pinched' it ) and stuck it straight into the ground and it GREW !! It is however quite a commonly seen OZ plant and very hardy - coping with hot and dry conditions.

No you didn't pinch it Rimmy! You propagated it & helped spread it's genes! I've helped a few along the way like that!! Mustn't be done with protected plants though or private collections eh! I'll see if I can find out what it is.

I'm putting off my "inappropriate happiness" until next summer when my foxgloves--newly planted--will bloom, and choosing to remain glum! 😄

They WILL - something to look forward to - mine usually take two seasons ...

Yeah, that didn't happen to me.

The full onset of my PMR coincided with the day after US Election Day, 2016. And my first dose of Pred coincided with US Inauguration Day.

Nope, no "inappropraite happiness" for me.

***The name has been omitted in an effort to protect the sensibilities of those who HAVE experienced "inappropriate happiness" during this time period.

Rimmy profile image
Rimmy in reply toGOOD_GRIEF

Sorry for tardy reply GOOD_GRIEF- I have been offline for a few days - Yes I can understand COMPLETELY WHY that inauguration was not a 'cheery' event for you .... enough to spoil my 'day' completely .... and certainly no 'happiness' involved
