Has anyone here tried Reclast infusions? Once a year. Has it helped? Experiences with it? My rheumy wants me on it. I have osteoporosis. I am taking calcium, D,K, magnesium, many supplements, trying to be active which is challenging. I need to decide soon.

Reclast (zoledronic acid)
Hi gtate1914, I refused it all.
Have a look on askapatient.com, there are plenty of reviews of Reclast on there, under "R".
For most people in the UK zolendronic acid is a long way down the list! Oral versions come first - they are cheaper...
Dear gtate1914
I was put on the infusion of Zoledronic Acid because with Osteoporosis caused by Klinefelters Syndrome and high dose steroids, I have a curved spine and a curved Oesophagus and can't stand upright to take Alendronic Acid. I only lasted for one year because I had ten side effects that my Rheumatologist decided that Denosumab injection twice a year for three years would be better. No side effects so far and No. 3 is due on 31/10/18 but serious problem has been identified that may occur when Denosumab is stopped. When I next see him I will ask Rheumy. if I can have the drug for ten years which should give the experts time to solve this problem. I've had seven rib fractures, Metatarsal fracture in left foot and spine bone fracture in 2016. so I'm prone to fractures.
I am not a normal GCA patient (how true) as the Klinefeltetrs has been screwing up my life since before I was born. Klinefelters was caused by a fault in cell division in my Mum no one was to blame it just happened, and I was just unlucky.
I hope you get on all right with your Reclast infusions
Best wishes
Colin
