Burning pain where? Skin, feet and hands? All the time, now and again?
Hi Feet a lot but not PMR .....burning around back and shoulders. Now and again ...thanks
Feet it could be signs of neuropathy though I'd expect that to be fairly continuous. Sudden "explosive" burning could be erythromelalgia:

I find my back burns in the shower when hot water runs over it - and by hot, I mean it was fine on my front.
Yes I get a sense of burning through my legs and hips. Gers worse when I have a flare. Goes away when not.
Thank you
HI yes I get a terrible burning sensation in my upper left side of back near shoulder. My Rheumy gave me a pred injection which has kept it at bay for a month now. By the way I am not on daily steroids. Am being treated for inflammatory arthritis with Hydroxychloroquine.
At times I have had burning pain in my legs and lower back during a PMR flare, the burning in my shoulders however, is from compressed spinal card bulging disks in cervical spine . Shown on MRI no easy way to tell the causes of all our pain. Non PMR pain for me is helped with Tylenol or norco. PMR does not respond to those. Sometimes this is a clue.
