I know how you feel. I recently lost a Scottie and a Westie. The Scottie was brilliant at catching RATTY'S, fortunately left them just outside the backdoor and did not bring them in.

Ours was so efficient it was over in seconds! Kept them away for years. His loss is something I never expected to hit so hard. Loveable rascal he was. I have nobody to shout at now or go looking for!! Sorry to hear you have lost your two.

I know the feeling Pepperdoggie -- they leave an empty place in both your home and your heart.

Must say Ratty & Postie feel more secure though!!

I think that the birds do as well-- especially the magpies.

We lost our two dogs within 18 months - can't get another yet - if at all - they used to keep the cats out too.

Love the clematis, got the same vibrant colour, the flowers are soo big and abundant, have a lovely pale pink one too that's been slow in flowering previous years but has come through lovely this year....

Yes thy're super plants, take up no root space & climb or trail. Most just need one cut down per year. So many hybrids to choose from now with different flowering times as well. I find kind owners let you mug their dogs! Well they have no choice really! The dogs know who likes them! Or maybe they can still smell those treats that were once in your pocket.

I find it hard to concentrate on your posts. I get stuck on the beautiful photos.

I have a baby squirrel around my yard this year. Boy does he need training. Trying to climb vertically up window screens and french doors. I have to run outside now and get whatever plums he hasn't destroyed.

in reply to Hindags

No training necessary for the furry lot they know instinctively how to get to us! Cute & clever they are.( Not fond of Ratty myself.) Plums! Bet he chews them before they're ripe!

What wind up merchants they are! ATB
