Really don't think it is worth wasting money on extra vitamins or supplements - you need patience and time. Your adrenal glands will take up to a year to settle down and your muscles will gain strength as you do things - don't overdo things though.

Hi Olive,

You could try some of following -

Omega 3 or Flax oil

Glucosamine

Magnesium

Zinc

Like most things, some work, some work for some people, some have no affect! Bit of trial and error really!

If you look on line you’ll find recommended supplements for joint & muscles, but look at NHS site, or similar, not a company selling products!

Gentle exercise will help as well, but build up slowly.

But you do need to monitor your aches and pains and perhaps get blood done regularly.

Sure others will come along with their favourites.

Well done Olive! As PMRPro says it will take a year to feel like your old self. It might help to get a Fitbit or something similar to count steps and to start walking, increasing as you feel able. Especially now that the weather is milder. It is very habit forming and good for you on so many levels. A fish oil supplement might be good, and keeping up with vit D and Calcium as your levels have taken a battering.

As PMRPro says don’t waste your money on supplements. You are much better at ensuring you have a good quality diet where you get all the nutrients that you need. I would only take supplements if I were recommended to by my doctor such as vit D and calcium.

Encouraging news Olive2709- all the best for the future.

Glad you seem to be adapting at club zero. Like SJ says...a Fitbit (or other make of step counter etc etc).

The beauty of one that has an app for a smartphone is the it keeps a record of everything. For example I know my resting heart beat has come down as pred has and as mobility got better. The psychological boost of doing the target steps helps. I don't have have targets anywhere near 10,000 steps. Some days I am lucky if 500 steps are achievable! And I usually have a rest day between walks. Start slow and steady and build up. Do a couple of more short strolls a day rather than 1 big one. All that us like extended interval training. Good luck you are getting there.

Ps. If it starts to feel PMR regripping you act sooner rather than later.. no matter what the bloods say. 🌻

Hi Olive, i’m a faithful user of the following:

high grade salmon oil capsuls, vit D, vit B complex, and a general mineral compound for seniors.

Ive discovered that magnesium and some of the other minerals help restless legs, and add to my overall good health.

Many folks are much more disciplined than I, and are able to injest all the proper nutrients through daily diet. I, however, am hit and miss with proper veggies, etc., and therefore, I take the supplements, and feel better for it!

Just sayin.....🤓
