Is it safe to take oral B12 supplements AND inject every 3 months ?

My mum was diagnosed as having severe B12 deficiency some months ago and now receives B12 injections every quarter but I wondered if extra supplements might help.

I heard that it is almost impossible to overdose on B12 but also heard that if PA is the reason (not had full confirmation from the doctor yet) then am I right in presuming she would struggle to absorb any B12 oral supplements through her stomach ?

From my memory of my grandma having PA, albeit years ago the injections provide the b12 required. It is one of those difficult Vits...i took it sublingually for a while but it was expensive for me. I am veggie and take metformin which can deplete b12. I would just be tempted to supplement through diet.

If she is on injections there is no need to take oral B12 - and if the cause is PA or some other malabsorption problems they won't help anyway. That is why they use injections.
