Since Grandma was so utterly gutted by the admission that she would not actually be "capable" of caring for Max for an entire weekend... (Stupid f@!*ing PMR/GCA!) Mummy decided that she and Max would come visit Grandma during half term! They arrive Monday evening and will stay as long as I will have them through Thursday!!!!
HOORAY!
I get to see him, cuddle him, play with him, love him and then Mummy can put us both down for a nap!
“Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus”.
PS - That's my old face... my "Before Moon" (BM) face... but Max won't care, so I don't care!

What a lovely photo Max is very similar to my great grandson, Oliver (now 14 months) who comes round to see me on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a couple of hours whilst his Granny gets on with other things not least looking after his baby sister (Emelia 4 months) . Yes it is tiring but the enjoyment I get outweighs this. Make sure, like I do, that you get at least an hour to yourself to, hopefully, have a nap and recuperate. Good luck and enjoy. 👼

WOW! Good on you! I could not cope with it right now... I was sad at realisation, but proud of myself for understanding my limits and limits and being honest with myself and my daughter.
Oh how I identify with the "moon face" comment!! I have a photo on my phone of my pre-Pred face and wonder whether I'll ever get it back again. I have to keep reminding myself that the most important thing is that it's safe-guarding my health.
It is amazing how quickly I got used to it. I have always had high cheek bones but they go under chin now. The fact they reduce as pred goes down is great and yes they are a sign that pred safeguarding us. My nieces and nephews all like getting a big hug from their fat auntie too.
janann25, I also had moon face but as you decrease pred, things go back to normal, promise.
Enid Blyton wrote the Faraway tree books. A huge tree in a forest that went up to the clouds where different magical lands existed. One of the characters who lived in the tree was called MOONFACE.! MR. WHATISNAME. was another I seem to remember. Blimey where did that come from!!
That is a lovely photo Melissa. You are both gorgeous! Sometimes if we just sit tight and do nothing the Universe solves it all for us in unexpected ways. It is the sitting tight and trusting part that is hard. Your daughter sounds pretty intuitive too. All is well with the world, just enjoy each other.
Well Max himself has a delightful little 'moonface' - so why not you as well - and at least you 'started' with cheekbones - mine were always obscure (LOL) so the more & less is relative !
Anyway having fun with our grandies - especially if we are not left with total responsibility for them - can be the very 'best thing' !
You're right, he does!!!! Hahahahahaha. I am so looking forward to seeing both of them. It is just the pick me up, I need. By the way... I'm Melissa : )
Nice to meet you 'Melissa' - I use 'Rimmy' here to enable me to 'blah' sometimes in ways I might not if identifiable by some. The 'alias' Rimmy I use is after our darling wonderfully warbling canary 'Rimsky-Korsakov' - who is at times almost as maniacal as me - especially when 'attacking' his lovely piece of broccoli.
Nice to meet you!, Rimmy! "Amici" is actually my ex-husband's name... I think it makes a good User Name and I love that it means "friend," so I use it. God knows he took enough from me! Hahahahahahahaha!
Lovely photo ,enjoy your time together,l have two of my grandsons to look after on Wednesday ,they are not babies anymore so l am taking them to see Paddington2 at our local theatre , that will keep them away from the x box.
Ohhhh that sounds fun!!! Yeah, Max is not easily occupied for more than a few minutes... especially here where he won't have all his toys and distractions... I see nice, slow walks along the seaside let that fresh ocean air knock him out! ... and knock me out too!
Lovely photo- enjoy your time with him( he looks gorgeous) and your daughter. Maybe having these illnesses makes us enjoy the little things so much more!
