Well it has finally happened! My front teeth are out! Well one of them is and the other is looking very sorry for itself! I have had oral surgery to remove a root and am waiting to get an implant but things are not going well! I think alendronic acid has had an impact so have decided to ditch it!!!
Basically my front teeth have been in and out more often than the Hokey Cokey! Eventually agreed to a temporary denture! So in addition to the pill boxes and various other things that PMR has cost me I think my teeth are now on this list! I have refused a denture box and sterident!
I still seem to have an abscess and was at the dentist 3times last week!! I am
back again tomorrow! I just hope I can recover the one tooth and get an implant ASAP! I am sure if this is all part of another trial of PMR or just bad luck!
Anyway down to 6mg of prednisolone and have decided to hold here until Christmas is over!
On a happy note off on a two week Caribbean cruise next sunday yippee!
All take care in the run up and pressure of Christmas. I intend too hence the holiday

That should be OK - but it does say on the datasheet that ALL potential invasive dental work should be completed BEFORE starting AA.
Enjoy the cruise - I'm in Malta, just coming to the end of 3 weeks with temps about 20C and loads of sun, just nice. Tomorrow it is home to snow on Wednesday - maybe. Wish I was staying...
Hi Julie. I had four front teeth out pre PMR and cried when I saw my falsies! For the first time I had a smile I could be proud of - every cloud has a silver lining.
I don't envy the abcess. I asked dentist for prescription as standby just in case, when I went on first cruise this summer, since I too had abcess a few weeks prior. Didn't need them but it gave me piece of mind.
Do be careful with the sun and the steroids in the Caribbean, I found out the hard way at a horse show taking photos when I first went on to pred. It took almost a year for the burn on my hairline to fade. I have two fractured femurs thanks to A Acid.....and the steroids slow/stop the healing process. You should have a bone scan to see how your bones are before taking them and then regularly it seems if you continue to take them. I stopped when the second femur fractured a year after the first. Good luck.
