Taking a moment from all the craziness surrounding preparations to thank everyone on this forum for the help, advice, compassion, encouragement and good humor...
We're an odd bunch, alright. But I'm so grateful we've found each other and can reach across the world to band together.
Here's a toast to you all on this Thursday - and for every day - for good health, good times and good friends.

Really don't like drinking alcohol to quench thirst, that's all. Be G&T time soon - since they have diet tonic here!!!!!!!! The next trip is being planned: first day will comprise a bus trip down to Sliema to M&S who will deliver free if you spend 33 euros. That shouldn't pose too much of a problem...
This US holiday day is a chance to stop and appreciate the kindness and bounty in our lives. My wish is that everyone on our small earth could live in peace and good health.
My Thanksgiving Day started O.K...felt a bit out of it for some reason, well I know the reason actually...our youngest daughter has decided to join the Air Force and she recently left for Basic Training (boot camp) a zillion miles away down in Texas...that stressful week and day of seeing her off was enough to bring on a dandy flare....sitting around the table eating our dinner yesterday with a few of our relatives, the phone range....our daughter...volunteers had offered to take recruits into their homes for Thanksgiving and they were allowed to make phone calls from these wonderful peoples phones...nice surprise, made our day..smiles and a few tears all around....this isn't the usual for recruits only in their first few weeks of boot camp...everything I've read says don't expect a call during the first few weeks and they won't be going on holiday leave unless its Christmas and they are farther along in training so this was a great surprise and brightened up our day for sure..she sounded strong and in good spirits...I was worried how she would be adapting to it all, just a skinny little thing but not afraid to try anything.....anyway...that was our happy holiday story!!! And many thanks to these Air Force families from the area who do this wonderful thing for these kids.
