Hallo everyone, just watched a video from the above American heart surgeon. It was interesting basically saying his Vital Reds drink would help with inflammation and fatigue. Wondered if anyone had heard of him or had any thoughts about his drinks. They are expensive but seem to contain mainly dark berries, green tea extra and probiotics. I know Kate Gilbert says keep away from any diets while we are on steriods. But the fatigue is so wearing. Kind regards to you all and thank you for reading this.

Here's someone's opinion from the "other side" (and about some of the other guff you'll find online):

I have no doubt there are some good points in his diet. But don't fall into the trap of thinking he has magical powers. The benefit is likely to be to HIS bank balance - at the expense of yours.

Thanks for the link to sheilakealey.com. Brilliant, he is probably a millionaire. As for Gwynneth Paltrow talking about vaginal steaming, that just took the biscuit. Or should I say pass the burn ointment please.

Hi,

You can buy berries from any supermarket, as well as good cherry juice, or Red wine, or probiotic drinks - whatever takes your fancy - and at a margin of the price he's asking no doubt. Green tea can be purchased from many places nowadays.

Just have a look at a reputable site, say one that deals with arthritis, and you find a list of foods that are good for addressing inflammation (and the attendant fatigue it brings).

They are all "normal" foods, and they don't promise a miracle, and although he may promise one, I doubt if it's achievable.

They peddle hope like the anti aging cosmetic industry. Very compelling ,dwelling in hope. My son swears by green tea, he finds it very enlivening - an acquired taste methinks.

My anti inflammatory tisane of choice is ginger tea made from freshly grated root ginger.

I know that desperation to make this stop. However, if it were that easy to fix, there would be countless PMR sufferers dancing at Burn the Pred parties. I'm not sure our bodies are meant to have concentrated nutirients all the time either, but that's just my hunch. Another hunch is that the relationship of nutrients in the body and in each food is quite complicated it seems. So, just taking out certain ones may be affecting their usefulness. A few similar things I've looked at have been based on quite small studies. Lastly, while I'm on the bandwagon, is it any bettter to have a bottle of non -fresh, processed ingredients that you can buy in the shops for much less money? The convenience is attractive though.

Fair amount of evidence that too much of various nutrients is worse than too little...

Be aware of unqualified people selling supplements! Their interest is self serving and has nothing to do with desperate people in search of a quick fix. In the age of the all knowing internet and guidance from fellow sufferers on the forum we are all capable of putting together a program that works for us and tweaking it over time.

Well, it's one of those phrases that's in fashion now, like "aternative facts" and "fake news".
