Fatigue but no pain

Good afternoon people ,

So I didn’t get to see my Rheumatologist , postponed for 3 weeks as his wife went into labour …. fair enough .

Just a quick question I don’t really have any pain just the deadly fatigue which seems to be lifting slightly throughout the day . Should I taper or wait until the fatigue passes been on 5 mg for almost 4 months !

If it is beginning to lift then I might wait another week or two and see if it gets any better. It will probably happen all over again when you do the next drop. One very good PMR rheumy likes to keep patients at 5mg for up to 9 months before continuing the taper - he finds it makes the next stage easier.

I think your rheumy may have had a valid reason for postponing the appointment!!! Not one he can use again for a while though ;)

🤣 Yes indeed unless he has more than one wife !

Might you be talking about Prof. Dasgupta ? I have spoken to his secretary and a private app. with him might be my next stop .

Thank you I know my gut feeling is to stay where I am but desperate to taper , you talk good sense the last thing I want to do is yo-yo.

No - Prof Rod Hughes in Chertsey. For PMR and sense I'd choose him any day.

Quite a few on the forum have seen him - he always listens. Dasgupta sometimes not so much.
