Anyone from Arizona?

Hi - Is there anyone by any chance who knows of an experienced rheumatologist in or near Phoenix, Arizona? My 89 year old aunt has been diagnosed after a long period of pain and illness, but her doctor is not being very helpful. She has been on a low dose of steroids for two weeks, reducing. She was given no information about PMR, or steroids, or what side effects she might experience.

A vain hope, I know - but I'm not sure where else to start!

I found this forum so helpful when I was diagnosed four years ago. Turns out, though, it was a misdiagnosis. Two years ago I found out I actually have Antisynthetase Syndrome. Now stable (fingers crossed) and reducing steroids with the help of immunosuppressants and an amazing consultant's support.

What about the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix?

I THINK there is someone on the patient.info forum from that neck of the woods - but I won't swear to it. I will investigate later.
