I've tied to reply this morning and I seem to have done something and am told to check my reply even before I write it. I check in every day but rarely write a post or a reply. What have I done. I do get a lot of support from you members posts.
Why won't the site let me reply. : I've tied to... - PMRGCAuk
Why won't the site let me reply.
I don't think the fault lies with you but with the technical operation of the site. I've had problems seeing replies for a couple weeks now ; this seems completely random and is very irritating. Also having to sign in each time, have reported both but still waiting.
Hi,
I find this site is very frustrating sometimes!
It would appear that if someone else is answering the same post at the same time you are, you find even though you press the submit reply button it doesn't work. Or it takes ages, and you're not sure whether it's working or not!
Plus it doesn't automatically save as you type, and you can end up losing the lot! Or maybe that's just on an iPad, which is what I use most.
There has been quite a lot of problems over the last week or so, but they have been reported by polkadotcom so hopefully they'll be resolved soon.
But please persevere. Or maybe look at the Help page.
No - doesn't save anything I don't think. When a forum is playing up I always block and copy a response before clicking on post. If it doesn't work, I then bring the thread up again and try again. Then it usually works.
It really is the most user-unfriendly forum I have ever used! And the way you have no idea at all who a reply is aimed at is an utter pain!
Hi,
yes I've started to do that as well, but it just makes everything such a pain. Plus I think it probably puts some contributors off using it, especially if they aren't very confident with technology! Such a shame!
Come on HU get your act together.
I agree PMRpro, it's even worse using my mobile, does all sorts of irritating things. Trying to edit and it tries to send. I must learn learn how to insert a grumpy face thing.. I can see a mistake in this entry, but I'm not going to try to edit it or I will lose it, the text that is. It's even telling me The body text cannot be blank.
It's not you Tonysue there is a gremlin in the works!
Now, I don't know if it's brain fog or what, but, for some time now, I don't get the PMR/GCA logo appearing before the posts. I get posts from NRAS and CKD as well. I like to read some of their posts, if applicable to me, but, I am sure when I first started reading posts, they were only PMR/GCA. Am I cuckoo?
Have you joined their communities at any point? I belong to LupusUK and VasculitisUK as well - I have had periods where I didn't get some notifications but that seems to have settled down again.
Are these problems happening on any kind of computer, or just on mobile devices and tablets? Not wanting to tempt fate but my laptop seems fine. I stopped "following" posts as I can't see how that makes any difference. My inbox fills up every day with notifications which I delete every couple of days.
I have minimal problems - on a laptop. Or at least, one of those hybrid things but only used as a laptop most of the time.
I use a laptop with external monitor as my screen's broken but have never had any problem until last ten days or so. I have difficulty in accessing replies - simply get a blank page - but this is random and doesn't seem to have any pattern at all. I've sent a screen shot to the technical people but I'm not holding my breath as I'm still having to sign in each time despite so many people complaining about this problem.
I am not into any modern tecnology! I have an 'old-fashioned' desk-top computer, which serves me fine, except for the PMR/GCA pages. I think there are far more posts, out there, than I am receiving , related to PMR/gca.
I've not had any problems, except when I click on 'Submit reply' before I've written in the reply box and then it prompts me to write something - as it can't send nothing! Just a thought.
Thank you every one . It's let me reply this time.
