Would love a diagnosis.

Think I might be in a muddle about posting. I sent a post and only received one reply. By the faithful Pro of Course! I've never found my post again to check for more replies.

Tap on your own name and your posts and replies will come up I think. Blood tests are not always a reliable indicator of PMR. Your response to Prednisalone is key. If you improve in a few short days then it's likely to be present. You're not alone just at the early diagnosis stage. Let us know what's happening with you.

Thank you for your help. In my original post I explained that I have had PMR for three years but it doesn't feel the same now. The doc thinks that PMR muddied the waters. I know I walked in pain every day with my dog thinking it was PMR as the fractured sacrum hadn't been diagnosed. Going back onto Pred. is on the back burner at the moment .

Will keep in touch.

Hello,

The lack of replies is probably due to Pro saying it all really. The trouble is the picture has become confused by PMR, the fall, fracture, walking on the fracture for 10 months. If you are hobbling about you will almost certainly have set up general musculoskeletal imbalances like a dodgy knee or shoulder, just from limping. There may be changes in the sacral area from the fracture involving nerves which requires imaging, there may be bone changes which may require another sort of scan, polymyalgia to name but a few can cause pains all over and fatigue with no blood signs.

Do get some medical advice and push for some investigations.

It is horrible being faced with daily pain and no answers, I do hope you can get to the bottom of this.

Thank you for replying . It made me feel less invisible. I have had a great deal of pain and stiffness that has transformed my life. Can't even dress myself without help some days. I've had MRI and CT which show the fracture but little else except wear and tear. Am now waiting for an ultra sound and X-ray on my shoulders and neck. And my doc has given me Gabapentin which I hope will help the pain. I don't get the fatigue I was getting so have to look at that as a plus.

Thank you again. It's helpful to share.

There aren't any!

Possibly people were waiting to hear what your doctor said. None of it is typically PMR - and my own suspicion was that there could possibly be another arthritis involved which I think an MRI would show IF they were looking for it. The fractures would account for most of it though.

Have you seen a rheumy?

Doc thinks that the low back is most probably the result of the fracture. But he is sending me for an ultrasonic and X-ray on my shoulder. Also has given me Gabapentin.

Rheumatologist is next I think. I've learned from everybody on our web site that there's no quick answer to it all. I've been so fortunate with health in my past. It's been a shock to be so disabled. I'll get over myself. 😉

Thank you.
