Hi Everyone, have been reading the posts about tapering/reducing prednisone. Have read references to the Bristol Plan. Exactly what is it/where can it be found? Thanks. Still on the "upped" 4 MG's per day ,soon to reduce. Seeing endocrinologist next. thanks. Wishing health, healing, some freedom from these,

You can see the Bristol Plan at rcpe.ac.uk/sites/default/fi..., regarding tapering they suggest six weeks on 15mg, six weeks on 12mg then one year on 10mg. When you say you are on "upped" 4mg per day what do you mean?

Sorry I meant to say six weeks on 12.5mg not 12mg.

Thanks, Piglette.

Got very I'll in an MRI testing machine. Was hospitalized.

In a blood test in the hospital, my cortisol level was 1.4. The range is 4 - 22. So it was very low.

Waiting to see my rheumatologist and new endocrinologist.

As a temp measure to deal w low cortisol blood level -- substitute rheumatologist said to up daily dose of pred ( for GCA) from 2mg.s to 4mg.s.

See rheum Fri.

Thanks for the Bristol Plan. Will read it.

Want to reduce down to 2 mg.s.

Waiting for hip surgery (replacement) - in 2 months.

Thank you for the link.

Best,

Gosh, I would give a lot to be on 2 or 4 mg of Pred.

When and what amount did you start on? Can you tell us what your reduction was, how many mgs and how often? It is very interesting to find out what methods other sufferers have used to get down to their current dose. I might need double knee surgery but am on 15mg at the moment, so a long way to go.

Thanks very much.
