steroid tapering plan

Well back on the Pred journey with big PMR relapse and now trying to gather lost info from last time about tapering. I remember there being a blueprint I used from this site which was very helpful but can’t find it. Would be great if someone could point me to it.

Oh dear, that’s a shame. The last time you posted was 4 years ago; enough time to start thinking it was just a bad dream!

From the FAQ’s on this page, under “T” there is a section on tapering plans. Here is the link

What have you been told to do by the doctor?

Oh that’s great thank you! It was the dead slow and stop one I used last time. Been told to do usual NHS doc tapering system of 3 weeks 15mg, 3weeks 12.5mg, 3 weeks 10 mg…etc etc- just too much of a drop for me.

I suppose the silver lining is that this isn’t your first rodeo and that is cutting out the early days learning curve. Clutching at straws here, you must be frustrated.

Hi, I seem to have had a similar journey to you and have been going up and down since diagnosis in February 2022. I am currently at 8mg and been fine since following advice on here. You sound very clued up on where to look as I didn’t and only had my gp to go by!

Sorry to hear the dreaded PMR has raised its ugly head again. As others have said you are much better informed to deal with it this time around. Best wishes and good luck 🌸
