I seem to be suffering hay fever not that I have seen a doctor about it because all the gps at our surgery have left. However I have most of the symptoms(permanent runny nose itchy eyes and ears sneezing etc)
Are there any otc remedies that work and are not going to argue with preds etc

I was advised to stay away from anti- histamine a that make you sleepy, due to taking medication that sedated you. I was advised that Cetrizine was safe with Pred, if you go to the pharmacy that usually dispenses your medication they will advise you, as there are many needs available Otc for hay fever. it shouldn't require a GP, pharmacists have a lot of knowledge and are under used here in the UK.
I use Loratidine - recommended by the immunology department at Newcastle. Originally I was given it on prescription along with the bulk purchase season ticket but since then I buy it from Lidl - 79p for a 14 tablet pack of generic. Boots charge more for their own label than for a brand name! And believe me - it doesn't work any better!
I have Fexofenadine on prescription and a steroid nasal spray which is quite effective. The allergies start early with tree pollens and just seem to go on and on. I'm hoping a holiday in a different environment (Majorca) will give me some respite.
