Don't put weight on your hands when raising from chairs, keep hands flat . The enclosed information may be useful in all activities.

Thank you for this tip when raising chairs.

Wonder if anyone has struggled walking back up a hill as I did 3 days ago, OK going down but coming back my legs just did not want to work - this has happened Easter 2014 when I couldn't walk up a steep hill, my legs just wouldn't work, but at the time thought I must have been a touch unfit.

I had usually attended my YMCA fitness class 2 to 3 times a week then and was reasonably active other times.

Last fitness class 2 weeks ago I could not get through it without dragging myself.

Have taken short 10 to 15 minute walks near my house when I am feeling reasonable.

During night last night awoke with terrible pains in both lower legs, have vascular changes evident in last 18 months in R ankle - appears worse now.

Pulled on some support stockings which helped comfort and pain wise, getting me off to sleep for a time.

Notice swelling right ankle tonight yet new Hydrocortisone 15mg taken twice daily as of 13.2.2015 seemed to be effective diuretic wise and pain wise, but wondering now if this is too low?

Had originally intended to take a look at Sclerotherapy this winter as we are still enjoying a very hot summer right now.

Any thoughts on my leg issues please?

Did you try hanging your legs out of the bed and did it help? If you already have vascular changes it may be they have progressed to the stage of really affecting the blood supply to the lower legs and this needs checking to see if any intervention is required.

I have real trouble on hills and am OK on the flat. As my house is on a hill this is a real problem.

I have trouble on any incline and only 48!. Although has been a bit easier the last 3 days. Sometimes going upstairs is like climbing everest.

Oh dear this is not so good - glad to hear bit easier last 3 days for you.

I think its fair to say that maybe we have good days and bad days as I have 16 internal stairs in our home and prior to Hydrocort, I would haul myself up holding tightly to the handrail. I'm OK at moment although hang own going down just to be extra careful. Falls happen so quickly don't they?

Good thinking re stick.

I am very aware of these falls having slipped on a tiny patch of water when playing table tennis 2014 and landing heavily on my left side - I will only wear rubber soled shoes now and will invest in those walking sticks used like ski's when our wet weather starts. One can never be too careful - prevention better than cure me thinks.
