Have been off steroids now since September and all going well. However I now have very itchy skin, is this Steroid withdrawal? Has anyone else experienced this.

LO Falkers. Yes I Have had this problem from day 1.It is some thing I have learned to live with, I think you will find there are creams you can use? But being a old grump I tend to just put up with it & have a good moan to myself.Double Base cream I think??. Just thinking about Bear in jungle book?? Hope you get some feed back.Dave

Falkers, it is possible that the long-term use of steroids have left you with a dry and thinning skin. On the other hand, have you been taking any newly prescribed medication or eaten any different foods which could point to an allergy. Is it itchy all over or just in certain areas? I ask because I have recently experienced weeks of a very itchy back. The GP has said this is caused by a number of keratoses visible in that area and advised me, in her words, to "moisturise, moisturise, moisture"! I echo Dave's recommendation with regard to Double Base Cream. Difficult area to reach, but I've managed to get the cream on one way or another and the itch has resolved. Double Base is also available in gel form, and both on prescription and over the counter.
