I've got loads of things..............I still feel I have to shop for 200, even though there are only 4 of us and I'm not cooking! Come to that, round here the shops are only closed on Christmas Day anyway.

I've also noticed I sound like my mum at times! Must think before I speak!

Know the feeling I have started to sound like mine over the last few months today found myself telling my sister who was teasing me about letting hubby do Christmas tree and the fact I let him .I said there is no right way or wrong way just a different way freaked me out don't mind her .That was just the kind of thing mum would say

You've turned into your mum lol. Every year the day before Christmas eve my son visits and brings my last bits and pieces of shopping, and I give him his pre Christmas present (pyjamas) and tell him to make sure he goes to bed early. He's 35! He laughs and tells me that for new year he's sending me on a long holiday - in an old people's home.

I have just done the sloppy peas for Xmas Day!!! I know but my mum used to have a dozen or more guests for xmas (many stayed over). Kids crushed together and one in the bath. We had a old fashioned grocers shop and they worked until late xmas eve, so the cooked day before peas were a god send. One year a baby dummy was lost and it turned up in the peas! So I still cook sloppy peas sixty years later. Happy Xmas.
