Mistake over pred dose

Dear everyone I’m on a dosage of 5 mg pred a day and it’s been going OK. Took dose at 1 pm yesterday, (usual time). Then came my mistake. Despite the use of a pill box (recommended on this site) and despite not drinking alcohol AT ALL, I got days muddled up at bedtime, convinced myself I hadn’t taken daily pred dose, and took one at bed time 11 pm. That is, two 5 mg preds in one day. Apart from worrying about my brain function, losing short-term memory etc, now what do I do? Can I carry on taking 5 mg a day, taking next one at 11.00? I do hope so.

Just keep calm and carry on! And enjoy the better day you are probably having today!!

Everyone does it at some point and it does no harm at all - taking the extra 5mg for more than 2 weeks MIGHT put a small dent in any adrenal recovery that was already there. But even that isn't the end of the world.

In what terms? PMR symptoms or signs of adrenal insufficiency?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I've got GCA. Just feeling more energetic and, as a result of your reply, optimistic

Probably the adrenal effect - or lack of! But you need to brave 5mg and below to get the adrenal back on the scene on you way to zero. So don't lose the optimism!!!! You will get there, even if it sometimes doesn't feel like it.
