I was diagnosed with levator ani syndrome slow transit colon and colitis for a good few years now.I get very painful spasms in my pelvic floor which really affects bowel movements and sitting comfortably can be a nightmare.

I have to do daily trans anal irrigation and manual extraction as normal movements of bowel are severely restricted, it has become part of my daily routine.

I see a specialist womens physio who performs internal/external vaginal trigger point therapy and I also get 3mthly botox injections into pelvic floor. Combination of treatments and taking antispasmodic does help with pain and discomfort.

Are you on a treatment plan and if so what works for you?
