Karen, I have had chronic back pain for decades, and now have pudental neuralgia for 3 years. I took tramadol for years, but then started using Kramtom in 2018. Kratom does help with pain, but my experience, only lasts about 2-3 hours. I take Kratom 6 times a day, and chose a different variety each time, so not to get accustom. I use the brand, Urban Ice Botanicals. Good luck with your endeavor.

Hi Cheryl! I know there r different colors so which worked best for u? I’ll take the 2-3 hours as right now I get NO relief!!!! I’ve had chronic rectal pain for 10 years and I’m out of options!!! There’s a company where u get a variety pack but I want the one that works the BEST!!!!! I can’t take this anymore!!!! I’ve tried EVERYTHING there is including a pain pump and even colostomy which destroyed me physically and mentally so if I can get some relief it will help my depression!!!!! I’m SO excited that someone finally answered me!!! Is it ok if I ask questions as the come up? Thank u for answering me!!!! I greatly appreciate it!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Take care!!!!!

Have you tried Pregablin or Lyrica for burning. I take 150mg in morning and again at night. Start slowly and build up to successful dose. I take 500mg of Robaxin for rectal spasms and .5mg of Ativan as well. Duloxetine which is antidepressant helps with Pain. I take 500mg of Tylenol with Tramadol for pain as well. After 12 years of fighting I take what helps me get thru the day. I keep daily log of time and meds I take to be sure I’m not taking too much. Hope above helps. Rocky68

I take oxycodone 8 pills a day along with a pain pump of morphine, baclofen and Preault and nothing is helping!!!!! My doctors and I think it’s nerves with all the burning but no one can find anything! I’m looking for a neurologist right now but it’s hard!!!! What type of problems r u dealing with? I’d like to know what u have been dealing with! This pain and burning is hell!!! I can’t live like this!!! Anyway I appreciate u reaching out!!! Thank u!!!!

Hi Karen, you are on lots of meds so your condition must be much worse than mine. I have pressure and spasms around anus. Pressure makes me feel I need to use bathroom when there is no need to do so. Usually I will take 500mg of Robaxin and .5 Ativan about 30 minutes before lying down. If spasms continue I will take another 500 mg of Robaxin.

Before increasing my Pregablin I discussed with Dr. I was having burning on inside of thighs. Getting to 300mg of Pregablin has so far done away with burning. When I sit it feels like sitting on a rock and then pain travels to sacrum and back. I’ll take 50mg of Tramadol with 500 or 1000 mg of Tylenol.

One of my other Drs took me off Baclofen because she said that was for people with spastic muscles, I.e., cerebral palsy patients. I did try oxycodone but was not able to function and it did not help pain. You may want to switch from Robaxin and stop Baclofen.

I take Ativan to sleep at night. So far I have had only a few pains in genitalia. If you read earlier posts you will or shd see all procedures I have tried.

Is your pain in genitalia area or rectal? I don’t know how you manage with morphine and oxycodone. I also have weakness in legs when I first get up. This is probably an age condition. It’s better with 1 Tram and 1 Tylenol. Actually my Pain Dr recommending taking two Trams at once since the efficacy of one Tram wasn’t working since I have been on Tram for 12 years. Hoping you find something which works bRocky68.

Hi rocky!!!! It was so nice to hear from u!!! Our pain sucks for sure!!!! Most all of my pain is rectal and now perineal. The burning KILLS me and I can’t get rid of it!!! U mentioned u felt like u were sitting on a rock and I feel like there is a ball in my rectum and perineum and I CANT stand it!!!! It’s killing me!!!! I function great on oxycodone and most everything else. If I use my bullouses in my pain pump I feel out of whack and unsteady!!! I’ve been using pot too which can help but makes me kinda high which I don’t like!!! I’m having a hard time today!!!! It’s like a little hammer is beating on my anus and it hurts to high heaven!!!! I can’t tell u how much it hurts!!!! I can’t do this!!!! How did your problem start? This is an insidious painful ailment!!! I hope u r doing well but I know how this is!!! Thank u again for responding to me!!! I hope we talk soon!!!

Hi Karen, Talk with your Dr about increasing Pregablem (Lyrica). It did help with burning and neuropathy in legs and feet. Before my dosage was increased my legs felt like 100 pounds each. I usually do okay when standing except when back pain starts. My Dr says it is from Perineal area. I’ve had some vulva pain but only occasionally. It hurts most when I lay down. You’re right it feels like ball in rectum and spasms on each side. That’s when I take 500mg of Robaxin. If it continues an hour later I take another 500mg of Robaxin and .5mg of Ativan to relax me. You’re so right. It affects you mentally. I have had loads of shots, coccyx removed, stimulator and physical manipulation. Nothing helped. I did ask why they didn’t numb perineum nerve. They told me they wld have to go in backside and there were too many nerves in area to risk it. Of course I’ve been told it was Levator Ani Syndrome, Pudental Neuralgia and just wrapped everything under Chronic Pelvic Pain. I do not drive once I tak Robaxin or Ativan. Rocky68

Karen,

Karen,

Sorry for the delay in responding, life gets in the way.

Regarding the different leaves of Kratom, I do believe that the red leaf works best, but I don't see a strong difference between the colors, though I would take the red leaf if I only could chose one. The products I use are as follows:

Brand: Urban Botanicals

Maeng Da @ 6:00am

Green Malaysian @ 9.00am

Green Malaysian @ 12.00pm

Red Vein Bali @ 4:30pm (90 minute commute from work)

Red Vein Bali @ 7:30pm

CBD Infused Kratom @ 9:30pm

I mix the powdered Kratom (1-heaping tablespoon) with hot water and add grapefruit juice. You may want to start with less, I've been using this product for over 5 years and started with a few small scoops.

I've taken many opioid pills over the years, but don't have access to them now, hence my use of Kratom, grateful to have this option.

Now I don't know why you have a burning sensation. I have burning and spasms in my vagina and anal area due to Pudendal Neuroglia.

Now I'll tell you what else I do for the burning pain. I have Tinnitus, ringing in the ears/head. One day I thought, if noise (TV/radio) cancels out the ringing, would vibration cancel out spasms. I bought myself a small vibrator and wow did I get relief, instantly. I just place the vibrator against myself, not insert it. I ended up buying a handful of small wearable vibrators that I can use at my desk, and though its a hassle to charge them over and over, it worth the effort. At home, I use a large size that plugs into the wall. Not sure if this would help you, but you may want to give it a try.

Hi Cheryl! It was SO nice to hear from u!!! My pain is out of control!!!!! I’m running out of options that is why I mentioned the kratom. I did buy some red kratom but the names r different from yours but probably the same! I did try to buy from urban botanicals but had a problem with the payment so bought from Kona kratom! How many pills do u take? I’m not use to them so should I start with one and see how I feel? I can tell u the names of what I have so we can see if they match yours!!! I’m going to research them!!! What type of problems do u have? I know it’s your pelvic floor but what r your symptoms? Alls I know is that I HATE this!!!! This is the most awful pain I have EVER felt!!!! The pressure in my rectum is off the charts!!!!! Suicide comes to mind quite often but I would never do that!!! Today is EXTREMELY EXCRUCIATING so I’m having a very hard time!!!! I’m ready to shove a knife up my ass!!!!! Keep me posted on how u r doing and if u want me to send the names of what I got!!!! Thank u SO much for contacting me!!!! U made my day cuz I’m looking for answers!!!! Can’t wait to hear from u!!!! Talk soon!!! Hugs!!!!

Karen,

I think I've purchased items from Kona in the past, and I have used the pills, but now I use the powder, as I don't want to wait for the pills to digest.

Since you have taken meds in the past, I will assume you could start with 2 pills and work your way up if need be.

You asked what my symptoms are: prior to pelvic, my issue was with my back as I have spinal stenosis, sciatica, 7 herniated disk, 1 bulging disk, and arthritis throughout. But the Pudendal Neuroglia takes the cake, and I there is no relief other than pain meds and the use of my vibrators placed next to the pelvic area. Luckily I don't have the pain too much in my anal area, some discomfort but nothing compared to what you mention.

I am aware that stress seems to acerbate the pelvic pain, and since I commute 2 1/2 hours a day to and from work, then sit for another 8 hours at a desk. I can't seem to get away from the stress, though for some reason I'm having a good week so far.

If you are having extreme difficulty with the anal pain, I really think you should try a vibrator between your ass cheeks, not insert, just place (I'm laughing as I type) but I'm thinking you may get some relief and that's half the battle.

Keep me posted ❤️

I’ll try anything!!!! I have a pain pump implanted but it hasn’t helped!!! No procedures have helped either!!!! The feeling of the ball in my butt kills me!!!!! I can’t take it!!!!! I’m just at my wits end!!! I’m going to see a pelvic pain specialist who deals with the nerve and spine so we will see. Kratom did not help me at all. I am on pregabalin, duloxetine, Baclofen, Xanax when needed, and thank God compounded Ketamine 40 mg 3x daily. The pregablin helps so much with burning but th ketamine has been the only pain reliever that works. Opioids did nothing and made constipation worse which adds to the pelvic pain and dysfunction I already have.

Hi! Thank u so much for replying!!! I’m in the process of trying kratom but the billing was messed up so we will see! I take pregabalin 50mg night and morning but thinking of increasing it!!! I’m on cymbalta and chlorzoxazone and oxycodone and I have a pain pump with morphine and baclofen and Preault !!! How do u use your ketamine? I used suppositories of ketamine but gave me too much and I ended up calling 911!!!! I now have a colostomy so the burning would stop but that didn’t help either!!!!! I’m at my wits end!!!!!! The BURNING is killing me so trying to find a neurologist but that is hard!!! I’ve heard there is a LONG wait!!!!! I’ve tried EVERYTHING there is to stop all this burning and pain but NOTHING has helped!!!!! I don’t know what to do! I was hoping kratom might help! I’ve even been on fentanyl and that did nothing!!! I’m just lost after 10 years!!!! I hope I hear from u!!!! Again thank u for reaching out!!!!

Thanks for the info! I'll check to see whether they deliver out of state. Would you mind also telling me the cost? I took oxycodone for a 10 hr drive recently, which helped. My pain doctor prescribes me limited amounts for travel but I doubt he'd prescribe them regularly. Maybe he'd be ok with the ketamine. Especially since my insurance denied his pre-authorization request for a spinal cord stimulator. I'll go on Medicare in the spring and I believe it would then get approved. Honestly I'd rather be on meds than get the procedure.

I'm so sorry about your colostomy. Is there a possibility it can be reversed?

Karen1954 profile image
Karen1954 in reply toSouthernSally

Hi !!!! I think they charged me $2.50 per suppository!! I think I paid either $230 or $180 as he gives me a discount!!! Nothing helps my pain!!! I’ve tried three stimulators and possibly trying another one soon!! I also have an implanted pain pump and that doesn’t help either!!!! I’m at my wits end!!!! Going to another doctor who deals with the nerves of the spine as all my doctors tell me my problem is neurological!!!! This pain is literally killing me!!! If I had the guts I’d be dead now!!!! It’s been 12 years of hell!!!! The last five have been the worst!!! The burning is OFF the charts!!!!!! I can’t tell u how much this whole thing is destroying me literally!!!! I also need shoulder replacement surgery so I’m in over my head with everything!!!!! I’m beyond depressed!!!! I’m sorry to go on!!!! I hope u find something that works for u!!! I don’t think my pharmacy will deliver out of state!!!! Where r u located? I wish u nothing but the best!!! I’m here if u want to talk!!! Please take care!!!!

SouthernSally profile image
SouthernSally in reply toKaren1954

I didn't realize they were suppositories but that sounds like a good price. The only words of wisdom I have are to try your best to calm your nervous system down. Easier said than done I know. But being at a heightened emotional state adds to the issues, I think. Breathing exercises, music, ice cream, watching a comedy show. Anything soothing or something that makes you laugh. You take care as well!
