Hello all, I have lumbar stenosis, and all associated nerve compression along with pudendal nerve compression ;which wakes me at ungodly hours and keeps me awake ,so im pooped .

I declined surgery earlier this year for leg pain ,however due to rear end car accidents within 3 months ,my pain has increased and includes new pain ,so I went back to see consultant and said ive had enough ,operate. Having a new mri nov 6th and then take it from there.

My pudendal nerve pain is relentless now and goes from bad to incapacitating , such an awful pain to have ,I don't know what its like for men but as a woman it feels like a bulldog clip amongst other things.

Have any of you had decompression surgery for this and if so did it help ,how was the aftermarth ?

I have seen 25 specialists had injections and decompression on both sides and then nerve removal and has numbed a little area but has NOT taken the debilitating pain away. See Dr Mayo Friedlis about Women’s pelvic pain on utube you may understand a bit better about causes.

Yes I have had decompression surgery three times . The first time I was pain free for about four years. With age and spinal stenosis the spine canal closed enough that it came back slowly and two years later I had a second decompression that held up for two years. The pain was intensive so I had decompression and fusion in March of 2019. I am still recovering, I believe the stenosis is winning.

Surgery for getting the spinal canal open worked for me. Depending how bad you stenosis is and traveled will determine future problems after decompression surgery. by the way I am a man.
