Hi
Does any one have any tips on how to relieve pain and discomfort in the perineum?
I suffer from burning, pressure pain, tingling, and urinary frequency. It is worst between c.0400 and when I get up around 0700.
Thanks.
Henry

Hi Henry,
I likewise and have been advised by the pain specialist that this is due (in my case) to issues with the pudendal nerve and surrounding perineum areas. After earlier - not successful - treatment with over the counter analgesic gels by my GP, I am now using lidocaine patches prescribed by the pain specialist. I'll see if this provides respite - do please keep me informed about your treatment for this chronic affliction.

Antimony.
Thank you for your reply, Antinomy. Have you noticed any relief since using the lidocaine patches? Do you stick them to the perineum?
I hope you feel better soon.
Henry
Hi Henry,
Thanks for your swift response. I've only used the lidocaine patches for three days. While the burning sensation continues, the associated pain is reduced. I've been prescribed a substantial number by a supportive pain specialist, so shall continue in the hope of further reduction - and hopefully elimination. I'd appreciate your keeping in touch about your own experience of reducing this wretched chronic condition.

The only thing that helps my nerve pain in that area is an ice pack.
