Have you seen a gynaecologist or had an mri to check the mucus wall between the vagina and rectum. You could be having referred pain from something else. I’m not a dr but have you pushed your gp for a referral to a specialist or more test. Sometimes we have to scream to be heard. N

The diagnosis of vulvodynia is, in my opinion a cop out, as it is just a medical term for pain in the vulva. There can be many different causes and it’s likely that no two people have the same experience. Have you come across the Vulval Pain Society? This can be a good starting point for deciding on a way forward. Then I would find a specialist pelvic pain clinic, where you can be assessed. Pelvic floor physiotherapy can be helpful for a lot of people, and medication can help with symptoms. For relief from flare ups, cold or warm water / cold or warm water can help. Good luck.

I agree with your belief that’ vulvodynia’ is a term for pelvic and vulva pain that doctors have no clue is the cause.....a complete cop out!

I was diagnosed with this after incorrect diagnosing. Thank God I was able to see doctors who could help me.

A proper differential diagnosis must be done. A gynaecologist needs so examine you internally. A swab of your vagina and / or any red areas should be tested for microbes. You can read about this on the Net. I agree, you need to see a gynaecologist.
