Can ruptured cysts cause fever and diarrhoea?

I had a couple of severe stabbing pains a month or so ago and ever since then I've had nausea, chills and occasional diarrhoea. The diarrhoea happens when I'm bleeding. I don't know what's a normal period anymore as I'm so irregular and when I do bleed it's a ripping pain. I keep phoning my doctors and telling them I'm getting new symptoms and diarrhoea but they don't seem concerned as I'm booked in to see a gynaecologist in 3 weeks but if you look up ruptured cyst they tell you to get medical help if you have a fever with pain. So I have nausea, bloating, regular horrible pains, chills and a clammy fever where I feel cold but sweaty. Can anyone relate?

If you had a ruptured ovarian cyst and I assume that's what you mean, you would be in absolute agony and in A&E very soon after !! I had one and needed emergency surgery within an hour is so of it happening, I ended up with peritonitis.

The normal cysts that can happen monthly shouldn't cause any problems if they pop.

Hi Angie2020

I hope you are feeling better now and the symptoms have settled down for you. If not then I would definitely recommend you either try and see/speak to another gp in the practice and ask for a blood test. This will show if you have an increase in white blood cells which occur with an infection. Even if it doesn’t show anything until you have your appt with the gynaecologist your GP is responsible for your healthcare. Once you have seen your gynaecologist shared care comes into play where the gp is responsible for your care in between appts. In practice it doesn’t always work as perfectly as this!

If not and you have another two weeks to go I would definitely recommend writing every down if you haven’t already as you will probably find that you forget to tell them everything. I hope this helps

Thank you for the advice. I went back to my gp and basically he just sent me for another blood test for thyroid calcium, full blood count etc again and told me I have lbs. I know my own body and that the pains I had were definitely not ibs. I nearly passed out with them, they were so bad. I'm starting to feel like a nuisance but I just know something is not right. I still have 3 weeks to wait to see a gynaecologist and it seems like an eternity away!
